ART WORKSHOPS

Always, over the years, in every situation, I have also been a teacher. Besides teaching private classes in my studio, I have taught as artist in residence in the Seattle schools, at Pratt Fine Arts center in Seattle (when they had a clay studio), in the Lopez Schools, classes for teachers through the  Olympia Community College, and most recently as an instructor with the Lopez Arts Experience. These classes have been broad ranged, including clay work, painting and drawing, figure drawing, and, my own creation, Art for the Artistically Afraid.

I have taught mask- making, and other workshops for Elderhostel, For the Resource Institute in Alaska and in conjunction with retreats at  the Villa Sumaya retreat center in Santa Cruz, Guatemala. I teach a wonderful primitive firing workshop that involves finding clay, creating pieces, firing them on the beach, all in the same day, with no tools, no supplies,  just us and nature.
